Liceo Communication Circle Hosts Successful Service Learning Activity for BNHS

The Liceo Communication Circle (LCC) successfully conducted its Community Service Learning (CSL) activity on September 6, 2025, at AVR 3, Liceo de Cagayan University. The event welcomed the participation of HUMSS Grade 12 students from Balulang National High School, promoting a dynamic day of connection, knowledge-building, and collaboration.

Hosted by Airon Chiu, the program began with inspiring welcome remarks from Mrs. Pamela Rose Gabia, LCC Adviser. She highlighted the significance of service and communication in shaping the next generation of leaders. The event also benefited from the presence and support of Mrs. Rebecca M. Hilot, DLC Chairman, whose continued encouragement strengthens the organization’s initiatives.

Key sessions included a public speaking workshop led by Mr. Yvonne Pahapay, a 4th-year Communication student. He shared practical techniques to help students speak with confidence and impact in front of an audience. To lighten the mood and build camaraderie, Ms. Kira Cempron facilitated engaging icebreaker activities that energized the participants.

One of the event’s main features was the presentation by Ms. Alyzha Boransing on “Navigating the News Maze: Identifying Credible Sources and Decoding Information.” Her timely session equipped students with critical thinking skills to navigate the overwhelming flow of information on social media and become responsible consumers of news. She emphasized, “Skepticism is a weapon,” it is to encourage the students to question and verify information before accepting it as truth.

The HUMSS students shared their reflections and learnings, demonstrating the event’s impact beyond information-sharing. Through this CSL activity, the Liceo Communication Circle continues to fulfill its mission of empowering future communicators to be both skilled professionals and socially responsible citizens.
