Liceo de Cagayan University, in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), officially opened the 29th Cine Europa Film Festival on June 29, 2026, at Rodelsa Hall, welcoming guests, students, educators, and film enthusiasts to one of the Philippines' longest-running international film festivals.
As one of the official venue partners for the festival's Cagayan de Oro leg, Liceo U hosts a week-long celebration of European cinema featuring 17 films from more than 20 European countries. Running from June 29 to July 4, 2026, the festival offers the public free access to award-winning films that showcase diverse cultures, compelling stories, and world-class filmmaking from across Europe.
The opening program marked the beginning of an immersive cinematic experience that highlights the role of film in fostering cultural exchange, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
