ASEAN Month with the CAS Art Exhibit themed “Sama-Sama sa Pag-Unlad” held
today, August 20, 2025, at the CAS Lobby, WAC Building.
The
program opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dr. Rosella O. Ortiz, Vice
President for Academic Affairs, who also delivered a special message, and Atty.
David Almarez, Vice President for Administration and Legal Affairs. Both
officials highlighted the importance of regional solidarity and the vital role
of education in strengthening collaboration across Southeast Asia.
The
exhibit was spearheaded by Dr. Salvador C. Dela Peña III, Dean of CAS, with the
support of Gng. Rebecca S. Hilot, Chairperson of the Department of Languages
and Communication; Mr. Joeromer Bacus, Program Coordinator; Ms. Jevy Lou Piape,
SO Coordinator; and the CAS faculty and staff.
Featured
in the exhibit were artworks from General Education Art Appreciation students,
which reflected ASEAN’s cultural heritage, unity, and progress. Complementing
the display were the flags of the ASEAN member states, symbolizing identity and
cooperation among nations.
Organized
in collaboration with CAS Student Body Organization and the Liceo Communication
Circle, the event gathered students, faculty, and guests in a celebration of
artistry, academic excellence, and intercultural understanding.
This
observance is a reflection of Liceo U's commitment to nurturing globally aware
and culturally grounded learners, emphasizing that genuine progress is achieved
when nations and peoples stand together in the spirit of “Sama-Sama sa
Pag-Unlad.”
