LICEANS GRANTED SCHOLARSHIP TO LEARN DEUTSCH IN GERMANY

The Goethe – Institut Philippinen confers this year’s PASCH Youth Course Scholarship Program 2023 to five high school students of Liceo de Cagayan University. The scholars: Zuella Felici Legason, Rymae Shane Catayong, Lourdes Marielle Ermino, Lourein Reyann Capinpuyan from the Junior High School and Maria Christiana Labis from the Senior High School, get the privilege to fly to Benediktbeuern, Germany for a Deutsch Language Learning from July 30 to August 19, 2023. Joining them is the Chair of the Languages Department -Junior High School, Frau Anjenet G. Labor, who is also set for an advanced training in German Language. Liceo U stands proud to be one of the only three PASCH schools duly recognized by the German Federal Republic. For 11 years, the University has kept its membership in the global network of schools having special links with Germany. The “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative, through the Goethe-Institut, has been organizing International PASCH youth courses all over the world since 2008. This network fosters German language learning and intercultural understanding.



LICEANS REPRESENT THE NATION IN NETZWERK KLIMA IN THAILAND

Four students of Liceo de Cagayan University (Kzzye Francyne Jaina, Ayu Albarece, Raven Kylle Evangelista and Anton Miguel Dano) with their mentor (Mr. Richmond Bejaan) represented the Philippines in this year’s Netzwerk Klima (Network Climate) held on July 30 to August 6, 2022, in Khao Lak, Thailand. Netzwerk Klima is a youth encounter project by the Goethe Institut that aims at uniting German language learners from the entire Asia-Pacific Region. The project, which was participated by 31 students with their mentors from six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam), tasked the participants to work on concrete solutions to the environmental problems in their respective countries. Liceo U is a partner of the Goethe Institut Philippinen, which is the language and culture arm of the Federal Republic of Germany.
