PROGRAM OUTCOMES

 

Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (BSOT)

Graduates of the BSOT Program should be able to:

  1. In the practice of occupational therapy, apply knowledge of health, social, psychosocial, physical, natural, and environmental sciences, as well as occupational therapy.
  2. Employ occupational therapy concepts and foundations in assessment/evaluation and intervention in various occupational settings.
  3. Demonstrate leadership and management abilities in a variety of occupational therapy practice settings.
  4. Demonstrate basic research skills while performing diverse responsibilities to apply them to best OT practices for excellent outcomes.
  5. Participate actively in the OT profession's and its stakeholders' advocacy efforts to address society's occupational needs.
  6. In the practice of the profession and via community mobilization, promote community health and well-being.
  7. Recognize the importance of lifelong learning and actively participate in personal or professional development.
  8. Collaborate successfully with clients and in a team of multi-professional practice environments.
  9. Demonstrate oral and written communication proficiency to facilitate interprofessional education or educate an individual client or population.
  10. Demonstrate social and professional responsibility and accountability and a commitment to the highest ethical standards of occupational therapy practice and behavior in all settings and situations.
  11. Apply principles of teaching and learning in a variety of learning situations.
  12. In occupational therapy practice, apply the Licean approach to healthcare delivery.

Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT)

Graduates of the BSPT Program should be able to:

  1. Apply physical, social, health, and natural sciences knowledge to the practice of physical therapy.
  2. Consistently demonstrate competency in providing a thorough examination, evaluation, and assessment of patients/clients across the lifespan and the continuum of care.
  3. Consistently demonstrate skill in designing and implementing appropriate physical therapy interventions for patients/clients across the age and the continuum of care.
  4. Apply principles of teaching and learning in a variety of learning situations.
  5. Develop initial management, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills in numerous practice scenarios.
  6. Demonstrate research-related abilities in applying evidence-based best practices in the performance of diverse responsibilities in a variety of practice settings.
  7. Through the practice of the profession, promote health and an enhanced quality of life.
  8. Participate actively in activities that promote lifelong learning.
  9. Effectively collaborate with other professionals in an interprofessional situation.
  10. Demonstrate good collaboration skills and oral and written communication abilities.
  11. Demonstrate social and professional responsibility, as well as ethical behavior, in multicultural environments and situations.
  12. Utilize the most modern technology possible in the practice of their trade.
  13. Adopt the Licean philosophy when it comes to healthcare delivery.
