In a groundbreaking shift, Liceo U Junior High School marked the start of the new academic year with an exhilarating Jumpstart Orientation held at the Liceo Civic Center, putting an end to a 3-year streak of off-site conduct of the event.
True to the vibrant spirit of Liceans, the event unfolded with an explosive start as the new batches of Grade 7 students and transferees from Grades 8, 9, and 10, made a grand entrance, soaring down the aisle with grace. Accompanied by jubilant advisers and team leaders, they conquered center stage with their faces lit with excitement. The audience, consisting of fellow Liceans, showered them with waves of cheers and applause during the highly anticipated Freshmen and Transferees Grand Welcome Walk.
The atmosphere reverberated with the beats of pounding drums, the resonance of shrill trumpets, and the harmony of rhythmic lyricists. A colorful array of talents came together, including flamboyant majorettes, dancing queens, and gifted musicians with the return of the Liceo U's Drum and Bugles Corps to the spotlight after months of dedicated practice. Their dazzling dance performances to beloved tunes stood as one of the event's most mesmerizing highlights, captivating the audience and filling the air with festive vibes.
A pivotal moment of the program was the revival of the Student Council Elections, skillfully overseen by LJHSC moderator, Sir Randy B. Nagac. The crowd was gripped with anticipation as the two aspiring student council parties, TAYO and LAKAS, were unveiled, generating a palpable buzz of excitement among Junior Liceans. Standing alongside these parties was the formidable STUDENT COMELEC, entrusted with the vital role of ensuring the smooth proceedings of the Student Council Elections. The carefully crafted intermission performances by the respective organizations further enriched the event's lineup.
As the event drew to a close, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and determination. The JHS Jumpstart Orientation for the school year 2023-2024 fittingly concluded with the singing of the Liceo Hymn, marking not an end, but a promising beginning.
Here's to a successful and fun-filled school year, Liceans!
Adelante!
