Internationalization

The Office of International Relations and Linkages is a unit under the Vice-President for External, Cultural and Alumni Affairs

The Office of International Relations and Linkages aims to engage in areas of linkages with foreign universities and institutions abroad by integrating international and intercultural elements into higher education institutions’ missions, operations, programs, and goals to sustain quality education through academic and research collaboration, partnership agreements , sharing of resources, and international network collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. The Office coordinates with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. It also entails academic inbound and outbound mobility of students, faculty, and researchers of foreign partner universities and regional institutions. Relative to this, implementing the Liceo de Cagayan University’s comprehensive synergy approach on cross -border arrangement is to encourage effective internationalization techniques, initiatives, and programs that will contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals 2030 targets.

The Office facilitates the implementation of faculty and student mobility for programs with partner universities for global education and cultural enrichment. For admission of foreign students, this office coordinates with the Office of the University Registrar, Admissions Office to facilitate their enrolment and submission of the requirements set by the Bureau of Immigration, the Commission on Higher Education, and that of the University.

OBJECTIVES

LIO aims at achieving its vision and mission to serve local and international partner HEI’s and organizations congruent to the University’s core values of integrity and service.

L- Leverage the establishment of multi-sectoral cooperation to collaborate with individuals in industry, government, and non-governmental organizations in addition to education, by collaborating with both domestic and foreign partners in various sectors.

I- Inculcates the process of fostering respect for social and cultural diversity as well as the understanding of social and cultural commonalities;

O- Overarching the internationalization to improve the academic, research, service learning and cultural experiences of LDCU's local and international students, teachers, staff, visitors, and even alumni.
