The Balance Scale

The Balance Scale is a universal symbol of justice. It represents the University’s first academic program, the College of Law, and reflects the principle that justice and fairness are of paramount importance in interpersonal relationships within the University.

02 Knowledge

The Open Book

The Open Book symbolizes knowledge and the continuing pursuit of learning. It also represents teaching, scholarship, and the academic activities that remain central to the mission of the University.

03 Achievement

The Laurel Leaves

The two branches of Laurel Leaves represent victory and achievement, inspiring every Licean to persevere and succeed in overcoming the challenges encountered in life.

NIL SINE NUMINE

The Latin motto NIL SINE NUMINE means “Nothing without Divine Will.” It was adopted by the University’s Founders as an expression of their faith in Divine Providence and their commitment to Christian values.

The Roman numerals MCMLV represent 1955, the year Liceo de Cagayan University was founded.
