About the Office

The Office of Student Affairs serves as the link among students, the administration, and the faculty in matters involving co-curricular, extracurricular, and other student services. It implements University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the provisions of the Student Handbook.

The Office helps create a safe, inclusive, active, and supportive campus environment where students can participate meaningfully, strengthen their leadership skills, and grow academically, socially, physically, and spiritually.

Functions

The Office of Student Affairs operates under the supervision of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. It helps ensure that student interactions remain peaceful, productive, and aligned with University policies.

The Office oversees student conduct, coordinates with campus safety personnel, supports community, cultural, sporting, and student-organization activities, and helps maintain an active, harmonious, and beneficial learning environment.

Objectives

The Office advances student development through the following key objectives.

Holistic Development

Assist students through academic and non-academic programs that enhance their mental, physical, social, and spiritual development.

Student Orientation

Provide new students with proper orientation on the University’s mission, goals, policies, regulations, facilities, and offices.

Student Assistance

Assist in identifying students who may qualify for financial assistance, scholarships, recognition, and other awards.

Guidance Coordination

Coordinate with the Guidance Office in promoting student activities, monitoring concerns, and developing appropriate interventions.

Institutional Linkages

Build linkages with the University’s colleges in planning and implementing curricular and co-curricular student activities.

Student Leadership

Encourage students to develop leadership, responsibility, and participation through Student Body Organization activities.

Key Institutional Responsibilities

Facilities and Resources: Ensure that adequate physical facilities, equipment, and materials are available for student activities.

Program Implementation: Translate student service and activity objectives into clear and achievable goals.

Policy Alignment: Ensure that policies and procedures reflect the University’s philosophy and objectives.

Policy Development: Participate in the formulation and revision of policies and guidelines affecting Student Affairs programs.

Institutional Support: Advocate for the recognition and support of student services and activities by the University administration.
