On December 1, 2014, Misamis Oriental – Cagayan de Oro AIDS Network (MOCAN) celebrates Worlds Aids Day with a twist. The group, which is composed of Government and Non-government agencies and institutions, together with the Oro Fashion Designers Guild and Department of Health, directed a fashion show to promote the theme for the WORLD AIDS DAY, “Getting to Zero: Zero New Infections, Zero Discrimination, Zero AIDS-Related Deaths”.

Ms. Febe Fajardo represented Liceo Legal Aid Center in the fashion show gala to support the advocacy of stopping the spread of the disease and get involved in the information dissemination regarding anti-discrimination, in which, People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) are trying to secure. They said that this discrimination against them should be stopped and some of their rights are being trampled by others just because of their disease.

The World AIDS Day celebration is not just a celebration to attain victory against HIV and AIDS but it is a celebration against discrimination – a real violation of human rights.
