professionals-and-students-ptOn March 14, 2015, PT students and practitioners gathered in Liceo U’s AVR 1 and 3 to spend a day of learning and laughter as they listen to Mr. Omar Del Castillo’s lecture on “Nervous Circuitry: Its Impact on Sensory-Motor Impairments, Functional Disability, And Physical Therapy Management”.

Making a new culture of celebrating college days that does not focus only on having fun and no learning or learning and no fun, the dean and faculty members decided again this year to hold a seminar-workshop that combines the two. For the second time, the college invited Mr. Omar Del Castillo, one of the foremost lecturer in the field of physical therapy and president of Gold Rank review center, to give a lecture on conditions that is commonly encountered by clinicians, last year it was on orthopedic cases, this year he was ask to talk more on the problems in the nervous system. In spite of the heterogeneous mixture of participants, Mr. Del Castillo was able to send the message across as he introduce to students and reintroduce to practitioners the PT’s role in the management of various neurologic conditions pointing out that the myriad impairments post great challenge to neurologic patients and one that therapist should be ready to address.

For the entire activity, Mr. Del Castillo’s facile victory in engaging the students in the seminar-workshop affected greatly the students perspective that learning does not mean boring but could be interesting and entertaining as well as what they witness that day.
