Liceo U opens state-of-the-art diagnostic center

In line with Liceo de Cagayan University’s celebration of its Diamond Jubilee, the University opens its gates for another promising engagement towards quality health care optimization with its state-of-the-art Liceo Diagnostic Center located along Rodolfo Neri-Pelaez Boulevard, Kauswagan, this city.

The blessing of the new diagnostic center was officiated by Fr. Joel R. Lasutaz, SSS. It was followed suit by the ceremonial ribbon-cutting that was led by the University President Dr. Mariano M. Lerin and Mrs. Tanya Michelle A. Golez. No less than the Chairman of the Board Dr. Rafaelita P. Pelaez also graced the historic event.diagnostic3-1 Other university personalities present were Executive Vice President and Vice President for Administration Mr. Allain Marc P. Golez, Vice President for External and Cultural Affairs Mr. Rudolf Caesar P. Golez, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Florecilla C. Cinches, Vice President for Finance Mr. Jose Rolex B. Ratilla, Vice President for Student Personnel Services Dr. Jose Vicente N. Noble, deans, principals, directors, heads of offices, suppliers, faculty, staff and students, who all shared the same enthusiasm and support for this remarkable investment.

The Liceo Diagnostic Center’s Radiology (X-ray) Department housed the newly acclaimed High Speed Diagnostic X-ray machine – the Shimadzu Rad Speed 500 for performing routine radiographic procedures such as chest, extremities and skull X-ray examinations. The medical laboratory also has fully-automated diagnostic machines used for routine clinical chemistry, HA1C, electrolytes, CBC, urinalysis, stool examination, hepatitis screen, and titer procedures.

diagnostic4-1It can be noted that Liceo U is the only university in Cagayan de Oro City that offers a wide selection of paramedical courses, including Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology and Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (MedTech). These colleges are directly involved with the operations of the diagnostic center which will have its grand opening on March 18, 2015. With this diagnostic center, the vision of providing accessible quality health care becomes within reach of the community.
