Liceo de Cagayan University collaborated with the USA Embassy in Manila for a creative writing seminar-workshop from July 30 to August 2, at the Liceo U Main Grounds.
The four-day training “Writing from the Creative Unconscious,” was facilitated by Tony Perez, cultural affairs specialist, USA Embassy in Manila. A Centennial (1898-1998) Artists awardee, Perez is a playwright, creative writer, poet, lyricist, painter, portraitist, fiber artist, psychic journalist, and trainer. Participants in the seminar were high school teachers and students from different schools, namely: Capitol University, Academy for International Education, City High School, Kong Hua School, Lourdes College, Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School, Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School, Saint Mary’s Academy, and Liceo de Cagayan University. Initiated by Liceo U’s Institute for Excellence in Academic Practice and Internationalization (IEAPE), under the leadership of Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon, the training is part of the University’s plan to revive the program on American studies in consonance with its efforts toward internationalization. Conveners of the training were the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Languages, Literature, and Communication, and High School Department. |
