Seven high school students reaped awards during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) competition on April 7-14, 2012, in Palawan.

The team, composed of Val Amiel Vestil, Cinderella Faye Obeñita, Trinity May Gurrea, Mary Antonette Magallanes, Selyna Bermiso, Ravlawe Ipanag, and Eden Mae Selim, ranked second and third in the Best in Technical Application and Best in Infomercial categories, respectively. Trained by Mr. Michael S. Villamor, faculty, the team placed fifth in the national ranking.

Moreover, Val Amiel Vestil was awarded the “Outstanding Campus Journalist of Region 10.”

In his April 24 memo, University President Dr. Mariano M. Lerin, C.P.A., congratulated the team for representing not only the University, but also the City and the region and bringing home medals and trophies for the said feats.
