Teaching
Is the foremost function of the faculty. It is fortified by making available scholarship grants for graduate and postgraduate studies, forums for continuing education, and cutting-edge instructional media. To ensure a strong teaching force, the faculty's teaching effectiveness and professionalism are evaluated regularly. Evaluation results are made as basis for faculty's retention, promotion, and intervention. Having the various fields taught by instructors holding appropriate terminal degree further guarantees quality teaching. The faculty performs other functions related to teaching: advising, consulting, and facilitating teaching-related events.
Research
Is the underpining of quality teaching. The university, which is home to a number of research initiatives regarding the environment, health, and social issues, engages her faculty in fully funded center-based research activities. Research works are refereed, published, and presented in regional, national, and international research forums. Such efforts foster a culture of excellence in research. Research partnership with various colleges and universities intensifies the research activities of the faculty, paving way for exchanges of expertise and sharing of resources to advance scholarly research.
Public Service
Is an integral part of the university's mission. Thus, the faculty is encouraged to participate in a range of outreach activities that promote community livelihood and health, environmental preservation and protection, and literacy. Of similar importance to the university is the faculty's participation in university committees and non-academic tasks that enrich school life. Both types of service are considered for tenure and promotion.
