  • Two faculty members presented research papers during the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR) 7th National Research Forum last August 22-25, 2010. Engr. Wilson O. Tablan garnered the Platinum Award for his research paper entitledĀ  "Flexural Strength Concrete Beams containing Twined Coconut Fibers", while Engr. Ian Kit Dap-og acquired the Gold Award for his research entitled "Kinetic Parameters Estimation of Wastewater Treatment System of a Food Manufacturing Plant in Cagayan de Oro City".

  • Two senior faculty members, Engr. Noel K. Amao (EE/CpE chairman) and Engr. Wilson O. Tablan (CE/Voc-Tech chairman), attended the PACUCOA-PTC training for accreditors/assessors focusing on the PACUCOA self study instrument for international accreditation of engineering programs compliant with and in connection with Philippine efforts to obtain recognition from Washington Accord. The training was held last August 18-19, 2010 at Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila.

  • Engr. Nestor Ybanez (CE faculty) represented Liceo de Cagayan University in the "*Inventory and Updating of Groundwater Users within CDO City*" project which was undertaken by the CDO City Planning & Dev't Office. The event was held on September 1-3, 2010. The objective of the project is to gather baseline data which will be used to come up with recommendations which could help the community improve its practices/methods in the proper utilization of CDO groundwater resources.

  • The *Junior Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines - North Mindanao Sector* (*JIECEP-NMS*) in cooperation with the *Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines - North Mindanao* (*IECEP-NM*) will host the *"1st Mindanao Regional Convention*" on September 10 & 11, 2010 at Grand Caprice Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. The objectives of this activity are to provide (1) a venue for school administrator/faculty, CHED and PRC to meet and discuss new/update ECE curriculum and (2) a venue for faculty from different schools to meet and fellowship for future information and technology exchange among schools/institutions. The event is comprised of Technical seminars to update the electronics practitioners on the latest trends, and the General Membership Meeting to address various issues relative to the practice of Electronics profession. Registration fee will be Php 2,500.00 inclusive of convention kit, convention t-shirt, certificates, CPE credit administrative fee, snacks and meals.

  • The newly-organized Engineering Honors Society (EHS) in cooperation with the College of Engineering Student Body Organization (CESBO) will be holding its "*Engineering Quiz Bowl*" 2nd Elimination Round on Thursday, September 9, 2010, in the afternoon (starting at 1 pm). The event will be held at the College of Engineering Multi Media Room (MML). Each of the engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, and Industrial Engineering) will have a representing team of 3 members.

  • The Civil Engineering students sub-organization will be holding theirĀ  acquaintance party, "KALANDRAKAS", on September 10, 2010 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Tropical Resort Hotel, Bulua.
