Rodelsa Hall continues its mission to bring world-class talents closer to the people of Cagayan de Oro City. This coming March 15, 2013, the premiere performance hall of Mindanao will showcase one of the country’s most talented classical guitarists, Mr. Ramoncito Carpio. He earned his Bachelor of Music at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, under the tutelage of Prof. Lester Demetillo. He finished his Master of Music degree under the guidance of Prof. Benchito Carino, at the Philippine Women's University, Manila where he is also a member of the guitar faculty. Monching, as heis fondly known to the music circuit has already played numerous concerts throughout the Philippines and has performed in several guitar festivals abroad. Aside from teaching and performing, he also writes music for the guitar, stage plays and short films.

Liceo U VP joins German Conference in Bangkok

Liceo’s VP for Academics and Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon has been invited to participate in the said 5th PASCH conference. Last year, in the fourth PASCH Conference, also held in Bangkok, she was invited and was the speaker for the Philippine contingent on the benefits to students of learning German language. Her participation is in connection of her being Liceo’s Internationalization Affairs consultant. She initiated the teaching of German in Grades 8 and 9 in response to DepEd’s Order integrating foreign language in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) from Grade 8.

To date, Liceo de Cagayan University is one of three private schools in the country integrating German in Grades 8 & 9. The other two schools are the Ateneo de Manila High School and the German-European School in Parañaque.
