Community development continues to be one of the government’s concern especially among the far-flung areas which are usually the undeserved and marginalized sectors of the society. Statistics shows that majority of the Philippine populace still suffers from preventable killer diseases and financial crisis.
As a University, it is our mission to carry out our three-pronged functions equally which are instruction, research and community extension. These are essential in achieving the mission of service, uplifting the lives of the poor and to be able to solve problems of illiteracy, poor economic growth, lack of food, peace and security, limited urban-based services and resources of the government.
Liceo de Cagayan, true to its vision, mission and goals firmly believes in the development of the community through the capabilities of faculty and students and staff to serve communities by providing them effective access to continuing education and livelihood skills and training opportunities as a way to enhance the levels of our peoples productivity ready to face global competitiveness.
The Liceo Center for Community Development has been developed to centralize the efforts of the institution through an institutional approach for Community Development.
The Liceo administration, faculty, students and staff participate in programs and projects that have been established and developed by the University and beyond the campus in order to enhance experiential leaning, community involvement, social consciousness and generate a feeling to respond to the concerns of others.
Through this community involvement, the students are expected to develop within themselves special concern and respect for others, a sense of awareness, to reach out others and thus serve as catalyst that will continuously change the lives of the people in the development of various communities through the full participation of the community, government and non-government organizations.
Extension programs and projects of the univeristy is coodinated with the University's Executive Vice-President, Academic Council for instruction, Research office. With the support of the University internet, the extension service office can be linked with community activities locally and globally.

Our goal is to provide service for the people and to respond effectively to their changing needs and the conditions of the world through the university's facilities and manpower resources.
General Objective:
The Liceo Center for Community Development will facilitate in the upliftment of the socio-economic conditions of the underprivileged and marginalized sectors of society in depressed, undeserved and unserved communities towards self-determination, self-reliance and sustainability.
