Admission Policy
A. School of Graduate Studies
- A Student seeking admission to any program in the Graduate Studies shall tahe the Graduate Management Admission Test administered by the Human Resource Center of the University.
- A student seeking admission to any program in the Graduate Studies shall fill out an application form. This form, together with the Transcript of Records (original and photocopy), Honorable Dismissal, and CHED Special Order of Graduation, shall be submitted. ABS / AB Transcript of Records for the masteral degree and aMA / MS Transcript of Records for the doctoral degree are required.
- Only those who graduated from reputable schools and had an average of 85% (B or 2.0 in the undergraduate programs) shall be considered for admission on regular status. However, those who had lower average may be admitted on probation.
- A student who applies for admission to a doctoral program must present the Transcript of Records of a corresponding master's degree. A cumulative average of 90% or 1.5 is required. Without evidence of the CHED Special Order for a master's degree, a student shall not be admitted to a doctoral program. Those with lower average may be admitted on probation.
- Students who graduated from schools outside the Philippines are required to present their credentials (Original Transcript of Records) to the Dean. These shall be evaluated by the Registrar and forwarded to the CHED for proper evaluation.
- Candidates for a master's degree not corresponding to their bachelor's degree should earn at least 12 units of major ubdergraduate courses in the field of specialization, subject to the approval of the Dean, before proceeding to graduate work. Those who wish to pursue a doctoral program should have a minimum of 24 units (9 units of core and 15 units major subjects) in their field of specialization in the master's level. Excess units in the master's program are not automatically credited in the doctoral program.
- Transfering from one study program to another is discouraged. However, if so desired, a student should formally write the Dean for re-evaluation of his / her records.
- Tranfer credits may be allowed at the discretion of the Dean. A maximum of 12 units for master's and 18 units for doctoral may be granted for this purpose.
- Public school teachers / government employees enrolling for the first time in the Graduate Studies are required to submit a Permit-To-Study Certificate issued by their respective school / office.
B. College of Law
Based on the general admission requirements set by the university, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Supreme Court, the following are the admission requirements.
A prospective student must show to the satisfaction of the Dean or his / her authorized representative/s that she / he possesses the following qualifications:
- Holder of a four-year Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from a duly recognized school provided that he or she must have earned at least twelve (12) units in English or literature, or eighteen (18) units in social sciences, such as but not limited to History, Philisophy, Government, Political Science, Economics, Psychology or other related subjects, and six (6) units in Mathematics;
- He or she must be a person of good moral character or repute;
- He or she must have the necessary interest, aptitude or potential in the study of Law.
